City of Birmingham Swimming - Coaches Profiles

Carl Grosvenor

Carl is a Level 3 coach and has been a member of the coaching staff at the City of Birmingham since September 2005. He was Assistant Coach/Junior Development Squad coach from September 2005 until August 2010 when he moved up to become Head Coach of the club. He has produced national level swimmers at Age Group and Youth level and his swimmers have made numerous National finals and won National medals every year since he began coaching the squad. This continued success has led to him being invited to coach on the World Class Potential camps, Regional Talent Development camps in the West Midland Region and the 2012 Development Squad camp.

During his swimming career Carl became National Youth, and British Junior Champion at 1500fc and competed at the 2002 and 2003 European Junior Championships as well as the 2002 World School Games, 4 Nations meets, 6 Nations meets and World Cup series.

Carl trained and competed as part of the British swimming offshore centre in the Gold Coast, Queensland during 2003 under the guidance of Dave Calleja.

Adam Taylor

Adam's coaching career started at Newcastle Staffs ASC in March 2010. After six months gaining experience, Adam was appointed as City Of Birmingham Assistant Coach/Junior Development Squad Coach in September 2010.

During Adam's swimming career he set 3 Midland Records in the 200 and 400 I.M and in the 200 Butterfly (2005), made multiple national finals (2008) & was part of the England Talent Development Programme (2008).

Chris Littler

Chris Littler followed a long swimming career with Boldmere SC by going into coaching during the 2011 season. In May 2011 Chris began assisting at City of Birmingham sessions alongside his coaching role at Boldmere. He continued to assist both Senior and Junior squads at City of Birmingham for the remainder of 2011 before taking control of the City of Birmingham Development Squad in January 2012.

Chris's ability to improve swimmers technically has never been in doubt. His attention to detail with each of his swimmers' stroke technique and race skills makes him the ideal coach to work with these talented young swimmers.
